The Guideway® Series from Cree Lighting, enhanced with NanoComfort® Technology, redefines the standards for LED roadway lighting by combining exceptional visual comfort, advanced optical control, and unmatched efficiency. Developed as a new benchmark for municipal and utility lighting, the Guideway Series delivers lumen outputs ranging from 2,980 to 31,900 lumens while consuming only 26 to 190 watts. With an efficacy of up to 168 lumens per watt, it serves as a cost-effective and high-performance replacement for traditional high-pressure sodium fixtures up to 400W. Its slim, lightweight design ensures fast, easy installation and includes tool-less entry and straight-in wiring, further simplifying maintenance and setup in the field.
One of the most notable features of the Guideway Series is Cree Lighting’s patented NanoComfort® Technology. This innovation eliminates the traditional trade-offs between visual comfort and optical performance. Each compact 4x4 LED array is paired with a custom-sculpted acrylic polymer lens that precisely controls the direction and diffusion of light. These DiamondFacet™ optical elements reduce glare while improving clarity, ensuring light is distributed where it’s needed with minimal discomfort or light spill. The result is an LED solution that provides consistent, soft-edged illumination across residential streets, collector roads, expressways, parking lots, and general area applications.
Constructed for durability and performance, each luminaire features a die-cast aluminum housing with a tempered glass lens and tool-less access via an 18-gauge steel door. The system includes a standard NEMA® 7-pin Lift & Lock Photocell Receptacle and utility label compliant with ANSI C136.15-2020, while also supporting DALI-2 dimming control (optional). Available finishes include grey, black, bronze, and white, each protected by Cree Lighting’s Colorfast DeltaGuard® coating—a combination of E-Coat epoxy primer and ultra-durable powder topcoat tested to withstand 5,000 hours of salt fog exposure under ASTM B117.
Offering an unmatched range of color temperature options—1900K, 2200K, 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, and 5700K—alongside CRI selections of 50, 70, and 80, the Guideway Series caters to a broad array of environmental, safety, and aesthetic requirements. Select configurations are DarkSky Approved (1900K, 2200K, 2700K, 3000K) and are DLC Premium or DLC Luna qualified, supporting municipalities aiming to reduce skyglow and comply with modern lighting ordinances.
Engineered for electrical integrity, the Guideway Series supports universal input voltages of 120-277V or 347-480V at 50/60Hz and maintains a power factor greater than 0.9 with total harmonic distortion below 20%. Standard surge suppression is rated at 10kV/5kA, with optional upgrades to 20kV/10kA available. Each unit is designed for 0-10V dimming (down to 10%) and meets ANSI C137.1-2019 standards. Luminaires with the DLI option are also DALI-2 compatible.
Mechanically, the Guideway Series mounts on horizontal tenons ranging from 1.25" to 2" in diameter and features a ±5° tilt adjustment with built-in two-axis T-leveling. It secures via stainless steel mounting bolts, with an optional four-bolt mounting configuration for medium and large models. For enhanced field serviceability, QR codes on the interior housing wall link to detailed product documentation and warranty registration portals. Duplicate labels are provided for affixing on poles, site plans, or maintenance records.
Certified to meet a wide range of safety, environmental, and performance standards—including cULus Listing (UL1598), ANSI C82.77-10, UL8750, ANSI C136.2 surge protection, and FCC Part 15 Class A limits—the Guideway Series is rated for operation from -40°C to +50°C. Its IP66-rated optics and IK08 impact-rated lens ensure longevity even in the most demanding outdoor conditions. Many models meet Buy American Act (BAA) and Build America, Buy America (BABA) requirements, with all units assembled in the USA from domestic and imported parts.
Designed from the ground up as a complete street and area lighting solution, the Guideway Series delivers the perfect balance of high-performance lighting, modern optical engineering, and practical affordability—helping cities, utilities, and contractors illuminate with greater confidence and comfort than ever before.
