OOooh Kurl™ Suspended is a pendant luminaire that brings a whimsical yet refined charm to contemporary interiors. Designed to enchant and elevate, it features luxurious ellipsoidal louvers gracefully curved into distinctive arcs, available in six sizes. More than just a visual statement, these louvers serve a dual purpose—reducing glare to enhance visual comfort while acting as a bold decorative element. Ooooh Kurl invites designers to break away from convention with a fixture that merges style and performance. The louvers come in five finish options, each catering to different design needs: Black for optimal glare control, White for higher light reflectance, and Satin Chrome, Satin Gold, and Satin Champagne for a refined, metallic accent that enriches any interior scheme.
The fixture’s body is crafted from aluminum and finished with a durable powder coating. It is suspended from the ceiling using strong steel cables, while the silver braided power cable adds a touch of elegance to the overall aesthetic. Mounting is straightforward, with the luminaire designed to install directly over a standard junction box (by others). The diffuser is made from opal polycarbonate, offering uniform and diffused light distribution that complements the sculptural form of the fixture.
OOooh Kurl is engineered for flexibility and performance. It is powered by high power factor (HPF) electronic drivers that operate on 120–277V and 347V in North America, and 240V in the EU. Depending on the size of the luminaire, drivers may be housed remotely or integrated within the canopy. For applications requiring emergency lighting, a remote emergency option is available, offering 1.5 hours of battery backup in North America and 3 hours in the EU. This system includes a remote inverter module, NiCad batteries, and a wall or ceiling-mounted LED charge indicator and test switch (North America only), with a maximum allowable distance of 15 feet (4.5 meters) between the plate and luminaire.
In terms of longevity and performance, Ooooh Kurl excels. It delivers high efficacy based on 4000K with a CRI of 80+, and boasts a reported L70 lifetime exceeding 102,000 hours and an estimated L70 surpassing 178,000 hours at 25°C (77°F), based on 2000 lumens per foot (6000 lumens per meter). The fixture is damp rated, making it suitable for a wide range of interior applications, and sensor compatibility can be discussed with the factory to meet specific project requirements.
