The Rise RS8 is a uniquely versatile commercial bollard offering variable throw distances, orientations, luminous flux, correlated color temperature, and control options. This adaptability provides significant benefits to specifiers, architects, installers, maintenance personnel, property managers, and guests alike. Its sleek, eased square design complements a variety of architectural styles, while its robust 10-inch (0.25 m) form factor ensures it fits seamlessly within diverse project sites. The absence of visible hardware creates a clean, confident aesthetic, and the twist-and-lock design adds stability. Additionally, the curved faceplate design features a “no glare” characteristic, enhancing pedestrian comfort. To protect the fixture during installation, a galvanic isolator prevents scratching. Together, these features make the Rise RS8 both practical and visually appealing, with benefits that extend across all project stakeholders.
Power consumption ranges from 8 to 25 VA, with input voltage options supporting 120 Vac/dc at 60 Hz (UL), 110-277 Vac/dc at 60 Hz (UL), and 220-240 Vac/dc at 50 Hz (CE). The integral driver configuration utilizes advanced Xicato® LED modules combined with CoolDrive™ onboard thermal monitoring and control to maintain optimal performance and longevity. The fixture boasts an exceptional projected lifetime of 192,000 hours at L70 and 50°C, as measured by TM21 standards. Dimming is supported via phase control at 120 Vac/dc, and 0-10 V control at both 110-277 Vac/dc and 220-240 Vac/dc, accommodating a wide range of control systems.
The housing of the Rise RS8 is constructed from die-cast aluminum A380 for the faceplate and base plate, extruded hardened 6063 aluminum for the body, and includes stainless steel hardware. An anodized aluminum install base and polycarbonate base protector add durability and protection. Wiring uses UL1015-rated cable capable of withstanding 220ºF (105ºC) and 600 V, with lead lengths totaling 50 inches (1.3 m), and exposed lengths of 15 inches (381 mm) for ease of installation. The integrated Xicato® LED module employs next-generation Corrected Cold Phosphor Technology®, ensuring phosphors remain cool for consistent light quality and tight color consistency within 1 x 2 MacAdam ellipses. The LEDs deliver up to 100+ lumens per watt under operating conditions, with a correlated color temperature range from 2,700K to 4,000K and luminous output between 700 and 2,000 lumens.
Optical performance is customizable with preinstalled throw settings for short (6 feet/1.8 m), medium (7 feet/2.1 m), and long (8 feet/2.4 m) throw patterns, which are field-serviceable. The fixture produces an average horizontal beam angle of 65°, with either Type II or Type III distributions depending on the specifications chosen. A tempered glass lens provides shock resistance and excellent tolerance for thermal expansion and stress, with an optional sandblast frosted lens available to soften light output. The lamp compartment, constructed from die-cast aluminum, accommodates LED modules up to 2,000 lumens and requires no access for installation or maintenance, preserving the factory seal for enhanced protection.
The Rise RS8 finish combines two-layer protection with sulfuric acid anodization and a polyester TGIC powder-coat, delivering superior outdoor weathering resistance that meets ASTM standards. It offers three orientation options: Ground Plane (GP) for single-sided ground illumination; Ground/Ground (GG) for double-sided ground illumination; and Ground/Vertical (GV), which provides double-sided illumination with one side lighting the ground and the opposite side illuminating upward. Designed for installation on horizontal surfaces, the luminaire requires a separately specified mounting kit (part number LS6334). The included base plate allows 32° of horizontal alignment (16° each direction), and a polycarbonate install spacer protects the finish during setup. Four 10-inch (254 mm) L-bolts with hex nuts and washers are provided for secure mounting.
The Rise RS8 is rated IP65 for protection against dust and water ingress, and it is suitable for dry, damp, and wet locations. It carries an IES classification of Type II or III, with a BUG rating of B0-U1-G0 for the Ground Plane version, ensuring efficient and glare-controlled outdoor illumination.
