The G3 gateway is a central component of the Dimonoff wireless lighting control system, providing seamless communication between Dimonoff’s wireless smart lighting nodes and its management platforms, including Dimonoff | SCMS and DOO Express. Each gateway operates independently, managing its own group of nodes without relying on a central server for regular operations. This decentralized approach enhances redundancy, ensures robustness, and minimizes system downtime, making it a reliable solution for both small- and large-scale smart lighting deployments.
Housed in durable NEMA4X (IP66) enclosures, the G3 gateway is designed to withstand challenging environmental conditions, making it equally suitable for indoor and outdoor installations. Its commissioning process is streamlined through the Dimonoff Installation App, which allows quick and straightforward configuration. For connectivity, two options are available: Ethernet, which requires a static IP address on the local network, or cellular, which uses a standard SIM card on a static public IP with a minimum data plan of 500 MB per month.
The gateway supports multiple communication options, ensuring flexibility across different infrastructure setups. For server connectivity, it can be linked via Ethernet (LAN) or through a cellular modem. For communication with the nodes, it supports Digi XBee PRO at 2.4 GHz and Digi XBee PRO at 900 MHz. This versatility allows it to integrate effectively into various smart city and commercial lighting networks.
In terms of performance, the G3 gateway is engineered to control large numbers of intelligent wireless lighting nodes, with a recommended capacity of up to 500 nodes per gateway. It provides no-latency communication with Dimonoff | SCMS and DOO Express, whether via Ethernet or cellular, and offers compatibility with BACnet systems, enabling smooth integration into building management and automation platforms.
Security is a core element of the gateway’s design, with robust encryption protocols ensuring the integrity of all communications. Digi radios use 128-bit AES encryption, while Wirepas connectivity employs a 128-bit OMAC1 message integrity code. These safeguards ensure that data remains protected against unauthorized access, maintaining the reliability and safety of the entire smart lighting network.
