The downlight’s thermal management system utilizes an aluminum heat sink and components to maintain cool operation, extend component life, and minimize maintenance. The internal LED driver is suitable for indoor and outdoor conditions, operating from -30°C to 60°C (-22°F to 140°F), with 0-10V CCR 10% dimming standard. The driver is load-insensitive and compatible with 120–277V at 50–60 Hz. The fixture meets IEC/EN 60601-1-2 electromagnetic compatibility standards for medical electrical equipment and is FCC Part 15 certified for EMI/RFI emissions, ensuring compliance for sensitive applications.
The trim assembly is constructed from vandal-resistant, smooth white, seamless tapered aluminum with a self-flanged flare trim, field paintable if desired. Tamperproof hex screws and captive nuts secure the trim to the housing, while a clear prismatic acrylic lens above 1/8" clear flat polycarbonate provides optical control. The continuous lens ring secures the lens to the trim, and a tamperproof tool is included for service access. The acrylic enameled aluminum housing is rustproof and corrosion resistant, exceeding 1000 hours in the ASTM 5% salt spray test, and its shallow depth allows installation in restricted plenums. Cool operation extends component life, and the modular design allows full visibility and servicing through the aperture. A built-in plaster flange ensures clean integration with ceilings.
The UL-listed galvanized steel outlet box includes a 14 GA insulated, removable cover with ½" and ¾" knockouts. Installation accommodates indoor and outdoor ceilings up to 1 1/8" thick, and the fixture is compatible with fire-rated enclosures provided by others. Two 27" hanger bars and adjustable brackets are supplied for flexible mounting. The fixture meets UL and C-UL (Canada) requirements for wet, damp, or dry locations in covered ceilings and is Type IC listed for direct contact with insulation. Through-branch conductors up to four #12 AWG 90°C are supported for Type IC installation. The 7" vandal-resistant LED downlight carries a 90,000-hour rated life (L70), ensuring reliable, long-term performance in demanding public and institutional environments.
