The 6" sauna and steam room LED downlight is a recessed round aperture fixture ideal for Natatoriums, saunas, and steam room applications. It carries a Type IC rating, IP66 certification, NSF approval, and is suitable for high-temperature environments, making it compatible with Vandal- and Behavioral Health-sensitive areas. The fixture provides a nominal lumen output of 750L with three available beam spreads, supporting CRI values of 80+ standard or 90+ with the -HC option, which incurs a 15% lumen reduction. Color temperatures include 2700 K, 3000 K, 3500 K, 4000 K, and 5000 K. The light source is LED – Static White with a wattage of 8.9 W, operating on 120–277 V. Lighting control options include 0-10V and Lutron Athena dimming. The fixture employs a regressed lens with a flare trim for controlled optical output and precise light distribution, and has a shallow 5-5/8" depth suitable for restricted plenums. Emergency options are not included, and the fixture is designed for installation in covered interior or exterior ceilings using a fire box, new construction setup, or remote driver.
The downlight utilizes a thermal management system rated for maximum temperatures of 90°C (194°F), with an aluminum heat sink and components to ensure cool operation, long life, and minimal maintenance. The LED driver is remote (see REM-0700A), enabling flexible power management for indoor and outdoor environments. The trim assembly consists of a smooth white, seamless tapered aluminum self-flanged rigid cast trim that is field paintable, with optional or custom colors available. Optical control is provided by a high-strength prismatic acrylic above 1/8" clear flat polycarbonate lens, and the IP66-rated sealed and gasketed trim protects against powerful water jets and dust ingress. Silicone seals between trim and lens, closed-cell gasketing on the trim flange, and O-rings on stainless steel fasteners ensure secure sealing and compliance with ASTM E283 airflow restrictions of 2 CFM maximum.
The acrylic enameled aluminum housing is rustproof and corrosion resistant, exceeding 1000 hours in the ASTM 5% salt spray test, with shallow depth fitting restricted plenums. Its modular design allows full visibility and servicing through the aperture, and the built-in plaster flange provides clean integration with ceilings. The UL-listed galvanized steel outlet box includes a 14 GA insulated, removable cover with ½" and ¾" knockouts. Installation accommodates ceilings up to 1 1/8" thick or fire-rated enclosures provided by others, with two 27" hanger bars and adjusting brackets supplied. The fixture is UL and C-UL (Canada) listed for wet, damp, or dry locations in covered ceilings and is Type IC rated for direct contact with insulation. Through-branch conductors up to four #12 AWG 90°C are supported for Type IC installations. The downlight meets IEC/EN 60601-1-2 electromagnetic compatibility standards for medical electrical equipment and is FCC Part 15 certified for EMI/RFI emissions, ensuring compliance in sensitive and high-humidity environments.
