The Kontrol 6 Skywire wireless DMX color mixing controller is an ideal companion for LED lighting fixtures equipped with 6-in-1 LEDs. Its six conveniently labeled sliders—red, green, blue, white, amber, and UV—allow intuitive, precise color mixing, making it exceptionally easy to create custom lighting looks. The controller supports up to sixteen fixtures, each composed of twelve channels, for a total of 192 channels, and offers up to eighteen programmable scenes. Additionally, it includes eighteen chase banks, each capable of containing up to 200 steps composed of saved scenes or manual inputs in any sequence, allowing complex lighting sequences to be programmed with ease.
The controller’s interface is designed for simplicity and efficiency. On its surface, six universal channel sliders are complemented by quick-access fixture and scene buttons and a bright LED information display, enabling smooth navigation of all controls and menu functions. Music mode is supported through a built-in microphone, while the auto mode allows programs to run based on fade time sliders. Instant blackout and strobe effects with variable speed faders further enhance creative possibilities.
For wireless operation, the Kontrol 6 Skywire incorporates a built-in 2.4GHz Skywire™ transmitter, providing reliable wireless DMX communication over 1,000 feet line-of-sight. The system uses 512 auto-assigning frequencies divided into seven groups, which are color-coded via LED indicators, allowing up to seven systems to operate simultaneously in the same space without interference. The transmitter is fully compatible with Blizzard Lighting wireless DMX products, including fixtures with built-in Skywire™, wiCICLE® receivers, or Lightcaster™ wireless transceivers (sold separately). For traditional setups, a hard-wired 3-pin XLR DMX output is included to ensure seamless integration with any DMX network.
The controller is compatible with USITT DMX-512 protocol and supports USB data backup and restore via FAT16 or FAT32 formatted drives up to 4GB in size, using USB 1.0. It operates on 9–12 VDC at 0.3A through the included power supply and functions reliably in ambient temperatures up to 104°F (40°C).
