The wireless phase dimming load controller is a compact, reliable solution for both manual and automatic lighting control, linking seamlessly to remote occupancy sensors, photocells, and companion switches without the need for low voltage wiring. With no minimum load requirements, this dimmer is suitable for even the smallest lighting zones. Measuring less than one inch deep, the unit is significantly shallower than typical dimmers, resulting in less crowded wall boxes and faster, more convenient installation. All products are proudly made in the USA.

For small spaces, such as private offices, a wireless phase dimmer controller linked to a single wireless ceiling sensor (e.g., SWX-221-B) provides efficient control. Both occupancy (auto-on) and vacancy (manual-on) operation are supported to meet energy code requirements, making it ideal for spaces like small offices, copy rooms, or private restrooms. In medium-sized spaces, such as conference rooms or small classrooms, a wireless phase dimmer controller linked to a single wireless wide view sensor (e.g., SWX-421-B) ensures comprehensive coverage. Additional sensors can be linked as needed, and dimming or switching from a second location, such as a 3-way setup, can be achieved by linking a remote wireless wall switch (either line-powered SWX-854-2 or battery-powered SWX-854-B) to the wireless phase dimming load controller.

The controller supports a variety of electrical loads, including LED, CFL, ELV, and incandescent lighting. It offers selectable reverse (default) and forward phase dimming within the same unit, relay-based switching with no minimum load requirements, and 3-way plus dimming when wirelessly linked with remote dimming stations. Overload protection monitors and safeguards the unit from overheating, while non-volatile memory retains all settings even in the event of power loss.

Physically, the enclosure is 25-40% shallower than other wall dimmers, with a depth of less than one inch into the wall box. The controller presents a modern aesthetic with individual easy-tap buttons for on, off, raise, and lower, matching the styling of other wall devices. Additional features include a self-grounding mounting strap and a blue locator LED that is visible when lights are off. The unit links in seconds with wireless sensors and remote wall stations, supporting up to 30 wireless devices. Configurable parameters include high/low trims, turn-on levels, dimming curve types, time delays, operational modes, daylight harvesting, and photocell functionality. A white LED indicator changes intensity as the dim level is adjusted.

Electrical specifications include 120VAC, single-phase operation at 50/60 Hz. Maximum load ratings are 375W for LED/ELV and incandescent/halogen in reverse phase mode and 150W for CFL/LED in forward phase mode, with factory consultation required for MLV ratings. The controller accommodates a variety of load types, including LED drivers, fluorescent ballasts, ELV, incandescent, halogen, and MLV. It has been tested for ESD and surge immunity without damage or memory loss.

The physical size of the unit is 2.74 inches high by 1.68 inches wide by 1.39 inches deep (6.96 x 4.27 x 3.53 cm), weighing 4.5 ounces, and mounts in a single gang switch box. The LED status indicator is bi-color white and blue. Operational modes include occupancy and vacancy, partial on/off, daylight harvesting, and on/off/inhibit photocell, with configurable time delay options of 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes.

Wireless communication is provided via a 915 MHz ISM band, with a range of 80 feet line of sight and 40 feet with obstructions. Wireless linking is achieved with a simple three-second push-button process, and all data is encrypted for security. The environmental range for full-load operation is 32°F to 86°F (0°C to 30°C), with relative humidity of 0-95% non-condensing for indoor use only. These load controllers can be used to meet ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and Title 24 energy code requirements, providing a versatile, compact, and contractor-friendly solution for phase dimming control in both small and medium-sized commercial spaces.
