The R3 is a UK-designed and manufactured circular LED edge-lit recessed downlighter, built to a high specification for a range of general-purpose lighting needs. It is available with either an opal or a low-glare fire-retardant diffuser panel, ensuring compliance with rigorous safety and performance standards. The edge-lit diffuser technology ensures uniform light distribution without visible LED hotspots, providing a clean and refined ceiling appearance. Available in two color temperatures—3000 K for warmer ambient settings and 4000 K for cooler, more neutral light—the R3 caters to diverse project requirements.
Designed for ease of installation and long-term energy performance, the R3 comes with a remote gear unit pre-fitted with a 2-meter supply lead. Emergency lighting versions are offered with maintained operation and a 3-hour duration, supported by Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery technology. Lumen output ranges from 845 to 1,865 lumens, achieving efficacy levels up to 91.8 lumens per watt. Emergency light levels range between 200 and 235 lumens.
SmartScan energy-saving variants are also available, featuring a TEE connector for seamless integration into LCM wiring systems. The SmartScan wireless control option eliminates the need for control cabling, making the R3 particularly well-suited for retrofit projects or complex installations where wired control is impractical.
With recessed mounting and an IP rating of up to IP54 (IP40 above ceiling), the R3 is appropriate for environments such as student accommodations, healthcare settings, and other general-purpose applications. It boasts a rated lifetime of 50,000 hours (L80/B10), CRI 80+ for accurate color rendering, and carries both UKCA and CE compliance. The fixture is constructed with TP(a)-rated thermoplastic materials and holds an energy efficiency classification of F under current regulations.
