Ayrton Zonda 9: Versatile LED Moving Head Fixture with 3D Volumetric Effects and Powerful Beam Control

The Zonda 9 FX is a cutting-edge lighting fixture that integrates a proprietary optical system with an array of 37 lenses made of PMMA, measuring 384 mm in diameter. This system is paired with 37 glass light guides, each featuring an optical micro-structure output surface, allowing for a remarkable light output of 25,000 lumens. The result is a perfectly homogeneous mixture of pastel and saturated colors, no matter the color mix selected. The fixture's design ensures crisp separation between light sources, which helps to enhance the contrast levels. The Zonda 9 FX features a 50 mm truncated transmitting lens with an optical surface equivalent to a 70 mm round lens, offering a high-intensity beam with a 14:1 zoom ratio and a wide zoom range from 4.0° to 56°.

The fixture is also equipped with a newly optimised cooling system, simplified lens guidance mechanisms, and a more efficient internal structure, which has significantly reduced its size and weight, earning it the Slim-21TM designation. The Zonda 9 FX is a versatile, fully-equipped luminaire, suitable for a wide range of applications. It incorporates key features from the Wash version and allows for infinite continuous rotation on both the pan and tilt axes, offering total flexibility in movement. The individual control of each LED enables the creation of stunning 3D volumetric effects, while the fixture can produce high-definition liquid effects between its main lenses, generating complex graphic effects. These effects can be used on their own or in combination with the main LED matrix, adding a layer of creativity to any setup.

The optical system of the Zonda 9 FX includes a 14:1 zoom high-resolution optic system, with a beam aperture ranging from 4° to 56°, complemented by a fast motorized linear zoom. The 37 truncated 50 mm frontal lenses and the 384 mm front lens cluster provide exceptional optical performance. The fixture uses 37 RGB-W high-power LED sources, each delivering 1,000 lumens, to produce a total light output of up to 25,000 lumens. Its Colour Rendering Index (CRI) reaches up to 86, and the fixture is designed to last up to 40,000 hours, with flicker-free source management, making it suitable for TV applications and video-recorded events.

Movement and positioning are a key strength of the Zonda 9 FX, with its highly accurate stepper motors operated via microprocessors ensuring smooth, precise movements. The fixture offers automatic repositioning of the pan and tilt axes and has infinite pan and tilt rotation, allowing for complex effects creation. It features sophisticated RGB-W colour mixing, capable of producing 4.29 billion colours with 8-bit resolution. The uniform light beam, rich in both saturated and pastel hues, ensures a high-quality output without colour shadows. The fixture also includes a virtual colour wheel, offering preset white colour temperatures.

For effects, the Zonda 9 FX supports both 2D and 3D graphical capabilities, which can be applied to beam, wash, or matrix effects. The built-in pattern effects offer speed and fade controls, making it perfect for scenic applications. Additionally, the fixture incorporates the LiquidEffectTM system, which enables the creation of fluid and dynamic visual effects. The Zonda 9 FX features an electronic dimmer that allows for perfect light adjustment from 0 to 100% without color variation. It also has a strobe effect, adjustable from 1 to 25 flashes per second.

The Zonda 9 FX offers advanced software features, including local DMX addressing via its built-in LCD control panel, and remote DMX addressing through a standard RDM DMX controller. An information menu provides details such as hour counter, temperature, and software version. The fixture's hardware features include a graphic LCD display for function settings, an excess temperature protection system, and an integrated wireless CRMX TiMo™ RDM receiver from LumenRadio™. It also includes multiple connectors for DMX, ArtNet™, and power connections, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of systems.

Powering the Zonda 9 FX is an electronic supply with active Power Factor Correction (PFC), operating at 120 to 240 Volts – 50/60Hz, with a maximum power consumption of 1,400 W. Its advanced cooling system utilizes self-adjusting variable speed fans to ensure quiet operation, with selectable ventilation modes for different environments, including a new Silent Mode. The Zonda 9 FX is housed in a robust moving-head skeleton made of aluminum and steel, with die-cast aluminum base and head, and aluminium heatsinks. Its exterior is finished in black carbon, and it features IP20 protection, making it suitable for a range of installations.

Installation is streamlined with a fastening bracket system using two Omega 1/4 turn brackets, compatible with standard clamps. The fixture has eight 1/4 turn locking fittings for securing Omega brackets and includes a safety cable attachment point for added security. The Zonda 9 FX is capable of operating in all positions, whether on the floor or fixed to a support, and it can withstand ambient temperatures ranging from -10°C (14°F) to 45°C (113°F). The minimum usage distance is 3 meters (9.84 feet), making it a versatile and reliable fixture for any lighting application.
