The MiniPanel FX is a compact, lightweight, ultra-fast, and powerful luminaire designed for versatility and high performance. It is equipped with four advanced 35 W RGBW multi-chip LED emitters, each with low étendue, and combined with a high-efficiency optical system. Despite its small form factor, the fixture delivers an impressive total luminous flux of 2,400 lumens and a central beam luminous intensity of 331,200 candelas—all while consuming only 200 W. Like its larger counterpart, the MagicPanel 602, the MiniPanel FX features continuous, unlimited rotation on both pan and tilt axes, a hallmark of the series since 2013. It also supports extended serial connectivity and can be controlled via DMX-RDM or wirelessly through the integrated CRMX TiMo RDM module from LumenRadio™.
As a multi-function and multi-use fixture, the MiniPanel FX incorporates many of the signature technologies and components of the larger MagicPanel FX, all within a highly portable and efficient housing. It includes four squared 65 mm lenses paired with a proprietary optical zoom system that delivers a 15:1 zoom ratio, covering beam angles from 3.6° to 53°. This precise zoom mechanism features no visible moving parts and a fixed transmitting lens, ensuring clean beam separation and high contrast—ideal for graphical effects. The fixture excels in a wide range of applications, including beam, wash, and matrix effects, whether on stage or on camera.
The optics consist of a 2-element high-resolution system with fast motorized linear zoom and precise beam control. The four RGBW high-power LED sources deliver up to 1,000 lumens each, contributing to a maximum fixture output of 2,400 lumens. The system operates flicker-free, making it perfect for live broadcast and video production. The rated LED lifespan reaches up to 40,000 hours. Movement is controlled with extreme accuracy through high-resolution stepper motors driven by microprocessors, enabling both 8- and 16-bit resolution for smooth, responsive motion. Pan and tilt capabilities offer infinite rotation, with automatic repositioning to maintain precision.
Color performance is another standout feature, with rich RGBW mixing, a high CRI, and a uniform light beam free from color shadows. The fixture supports over 4.29 billion color combinations (at 8-bit resolution) and includes a virtual color wheel with popular white temperature presets. Users can also apply dynamic color macro effects with adjustable speed.
On the effects side, the MiniPanel FX can generate both 2D and 3D graphical visuals, which can be combined with other lighting functions for complex scenic setups. Built-in pattern effects with speed and fade controls further enhance the fixture’s creative versatility. The electronic dimmer ensures smooth adjustments from 0 to 100% without any color shift. Strobe effects in white or color can be adjusted to fire between 1 and 25 flashes per second.
The software interface includes a local LCD control panel for DMX addressing and parameter settings, as well as remote RDM capabilities. The menu provides access to hour counters, temperature readings, and software version information. The hardware includes a graphic LCD with a flip function and six menu buttons for intuitive navigation. An integrated wireless CRMX TiMo™ RDM receiver ensures robust wireless control, and standard XLR 5-pin connectors are provided for DMX. Power is delivered via powerCON TRUE1 connectors.
Control options include DMX 512 through cable or wireless, with support for DMX-RDM, stand-alone mode, and Master/Slave configurations. Three DMX modes are available, ranging from 19 to 34 channels. The electronic power supply features active PFC and supports input voltages from 100 to 240 V at 50/60 Hz, with a maximum consumption of 220 W. The advanced cooling system includes variable-speed fans for quiet operation and selectable ventilation modes (auto, stage, and studio), along with over-temperature protection.
Physically, the MiniPanel FX is built with a moving-head skeleton of aluminum and steel, with molded ABS PC covers rated V0 for fire resistance. It includes aluminum heatsinks, two side handles for easy transport, and four heavy-duty feet for stability. The IP20-rated fixture features a sleek black (Carbon) finish. Installation is made easy with a fastening bracket system using one Omega ¼-turn bracket and two locking fittings, along with a dedicated safety cable attachment point.
The MiniPanel FX supports all mounting positions, whether placed on the floor or secured to overhead rigs. It operates in ambient temperatures from -10°C to 45°C (14°F to 113°F) and requires a minimum safe usage distance of 1.5 meters (4.92 feet). This combination of compact power, flexibility, and advanced features makes it a top choice for lighting professionals across a range of applications.
