Mamba is a cutting-edge luminaire equipped with a laser source that is twice as powerful as previous models, enabling it to produce a wide range of breathtaking new psychedelic effects. The fixture boasts unparalleled graphic capabilities, with 18 motors dedicated entirely to effect creation. It features 92 fixed and rotating metal gobos across two wheels, specifically designed to sculpt light in "beam" mode. In addition, the endlessly rotating ovoid animation wheel further enhances its dynamic range of effects. These gobos can be paired with two palettes of four individually rotating prisms each, and can be combined with a second level of four prisms positioned at the front of the fixture. This innovative setup allows for the creation of a multitude of complex volumetric effects. Completing its graphic toolkit are two frost filters. The colour section of Mamba is highly innovative, incorporating a high-definition gradient CMY mixing system, along with an instant-access multi-position wheel that offers 15 complementary colour filters, two multicolour filters, two CTP correctors, a progressive CTO, and three multicolour sections—RGB, CMY, and RGB+CMY—spread across two concentric circles.
The fixture is equipped with a proprietary 13-lens optical system, which features a 250 mm front lens and offers a remarkable 21x zoom range. This enables the Mamba to operate from 0.7° to 15°, delivering an incredibly defined beam with a native contrast that is unmatched by any digital light source. Mamba also boasts an extreme focusing range, allowing the beam shape to be adjusted based on the operating distance. With continuous pan and tilt rotation, Mamba expands the creative possibilities, offering unmatched flexibility in effect creation. It is designed as a versatile fixture that can operate flawlessly both indoors and outdoors, even in saline environments. Despite its impressive capabilities, Mamba remains remarkably lightweight at just 41 kg. It is equipped with a sun protection system and an integrated heating system that ensures it can withstand temperatures as low as -20 °C (-4 °F).
Mamba’s optics are engineered for precision, with a 13-element, 21:1 zoom high-resolution optic system that includes fast motorized linear zoom. The beam aperture spans from 0.7° to 15°, with tempered anti-reflective coated lenses and a 250 mm frontal lens for superior performance. The light source delivers 2,600,000 lux at 10 m and has a colour temperature output of 9000 K. Its rated life (L70) extends up to 12,000 hours, and the source is speckle-free, ensuring high-quality light. Mamba offers precise movement control with high-resolution stepper motors and the ability to operate at 8- or 16-bit resolution, ensuring smooth and accurate positioning. The fixture features infinite pan and tilt rotation, further enhancing its versatility.
In addition to its robust colour mixing capabilities, Mamba includes a sophisticated gobo system. It has one indexable rotating gobo wheel with 12 quartz glass gobos, along with a fixed multi-position gobo wheel that provides instant access to 80 metal gobos. These can be adjusted with an adjustable-speed rotating gobo in both directions. The fixture also includes two frost filters (light and heavy), which provide added flexibility in creating various effects. Mamba’s effects include a monochromatic graphical animation effects wheel, which rotates continuously in both directions. It also has two sets of four combinable rotating and indexable prisms, as well as an additional set of two combinable rotating prisms.
Mamba is equipped with an electronic dimmer that allows for seamless light adjustment from 0 to 100% without any colour variation. Its strobe effect can be adjusted with speeds ranging from 1 to 25 flashes per second. The fixture also supports advanced software features, including local DMX addressing through its built-in LCD control panel and remote DMX addressing via a standard RDM DMX controller. The information menu provides access to important data such as hour counters, temperature, and software version. Hardware features include a graphic LCD display for addressing and special function settings, with a flip function for easier viewing. The fixture is also equipped with integrated wireless CRMX TiMo™ RDM receivers and has IP65-rated connectors for DMX, ArtNet, and power connections.
For installation, Mamba uses a fastening bracket system with two Omega ¼-turn brackets designed for use with standard clamps. It includes four ¼-turn locking fittings for easy installation of Omega brackets on the luminaire, and a safety cable attachment point for secure rigging. The fixture is rated for use in various operating positions and can withstand a maximum ambient temperature of 45 °C (113 °F) and a minimum of -20 °C (-4 °F). The minimum usage distance for optimal effect is 35 m (114.83 ft), making it suitable for large-scale applications and stage lighting.
