The Guide bollard is a sculptural, illuminated element designed to enhance pedestrian wayfinding with both form and function. Created in collaboration with design consultancy frog as part of the 35 Collection, Guide reimagines the traditional bollard by integrating innovative lighting technology within a bold architectural structure. Its defining visual feature is the arrangement of three asymmetrical cast aluminum panels of varying heights that encase a central optical core containing vertical LED arrays.
Light is projected through vertical slits between the panels at 120-degree angles, casting illumination to the left and right of each bollard in overlapping swaths. This creates a continuous, visually engaging pathway of light that improves visibility and orientation in pedestrian environments. Guide’s lighting system is engineered for performance and durability, featuring Nichia linear LEDs with color temperature options of 3000K, 3500K, or 4000K. The diffused Acrylite® lens ensures a soft, even glow, while the LED driver operates at 13W with a 250mA drive current. Each LED cartridge is rated IP67 for protection against dust and water ingress.
Constructed from a durable cast aluminum substructure with matching exterior panels, Guide is finished with Landscape Forms’ exclusive Pangard II® powdercoat system. This 19-step process provides exceptional resistance to rust, chipping, peeling, and fading, while being environmentally responsible—free of heavy metals and hazardous air pollutants.
Guide is surface-mounted and ships fully assembled for straightforward installation, with LEDs requiring hardwiring upon setup. In addition to the illuminated model, non-illuminated and removable versions are also available, offering flexibility in application for a variety of public and private outdoor settings.
