At the core of Zen Square Forms is a high-precision PMMA light guide that enables controlled, multidirectional light output. The patented light guide design features precisely aligned molecular optics and precision-coupled components to ensure high luminaire efficiency. In-plane light mixing enhances color consistency across the illuminated area, while the luminous surface remains diffuse and uniform—eliminating hot spots or visible LED points. This balanced distribution puts light on both vertical and horizontal planes, enhancing spatial perception and comfort.
SurroundLite® technology, developed by Axis, elevates visual comfort through a refined non-Lambertian 3D spherical batwing distribution. It casts wide planes of light toward ceilings, corners, and walls, reducing harsh contrast and brightening interiors with a daylight-like ambiance. With wide luminaire spacing and even illumination, designers can achieve high-quality lighting using fewer fixtures.
Zen Square Forms are built with durability in mind. Their extruded aluminum housing, die-cast aluminum end caps and joiners, and frosted acrylic lens ensure structural integrity and aesthetic refinement. These luminaires are UL and CUL certified and suitable for damp locations. Specialized mounting options are available for sloped ceilings and seismic bracing requirements.
Engineered for long-term performance, Zen Square Forms feature LED light engines that are field-replaceable and upgradeable. Accessing and servicing the LEDs is simple, thanks to quick-connect components and intuitive top-access design. The thermal management system utilizes the aluminum housing as a heat sink to maintain longevity and luminous stability.
Zen Square Forms also support a wide range of advanced driver technologies, including DALI, Power over Ethernet (POE), MOLEX, IGOR, and SmartEngine, along with compatibility for remote or integral emergency battery packs. Input voltage is universal (120–277V), making integration straightforward.
Lighting performance meets high standards, with a minimum CRI of 80 or 90 and CCT options in 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K—all with excellent color consistency within a 3-step MacAdam ellipse. The LED modules deliver a minimum lifespan of 50,000 hours with 85% lumen maintenance in ambient temperatures up to 25°C, in compliance with IES LM-80 standards. Zen Square Forms are dry and damp rated for indoor use in environments ranging from 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 104°F).
