The Tunnel™ ceiling luminaire reinterprets a classic functional form by introducing an elegant incurved enhancement that blends style with exceptional performance. This design flair elevates the fixture’s visual appeal while delivering output and efficacy levels that surpass typical standards. Tunnel offers extensive configurability, providing alternatives for nearly every component so that designers can tailor the luminaire precisely to the spatial requirements and design intent. It is available in five standalone lengths ranging from 4 feet to 12 feet, with additional length increments available upon request, allowing for flexible and precise installation.
Constructed from durable aluminum and finished with a protective powder coating, Tunnel combines longevity with a luxurious aesthetic. The fixture houses integral high power factor (HPF) electronic drivers compatible with 120-277V and 347V in North America, as well as 240V in Europe, streamlining installation and maintenance. Its diffuser is crafted from opal acrylic, measuring 2.4 inches in width, providing soft, uniform illumination that enhances architectural spaces.
Tunnel integrates seamlessly into modern data networks via Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity, enabling advanced smart lighting control. For specialized lighting needs, the fixture supports BIOS circadian lighting systems; interested parties should consult the factory for more information. Tunable white functionality is available, with a range from 2700K to 6500K to accommodate varying lighting moods and applications. Additionally, an RGBW option is offered for dynamic color lighting capabilities, available upon factory consultation.
Mechanically, Tunnel luminaires mount directly over a J-box, which is supplied by others, simplifying the installation process. For projects involving wood slat ceilings, consultation with the factory is recommended to ensure proper integration. The fixture offers impressive longevity, with a reported L70 lifespan exceeding 60,000 hours at 25°C (77°F) and an estimated L70 exceeding 165,000 hours at the same temperature, all measured at 1400 lumens per foot (4600 lumens per meter).
Delivered lumens and efficacy ratings are based on LEDs at 4000K with a minimum color rendering index (CRI) of 80, providing bright, high-quality light. An integral emergency lighting option is available, offering 1.5 hours of emergency illumination in North America and 3 hours in Europe. This self-contained system includes the inverter module, NiCad batteries, LED charge indicator, and test switch (North America only). Note that this emergency system is not available with a 347V power supply.
Rated for damp locations, Tunnel is suitable for a variety of interior environments that may experience moisture exposure. The luminaire was designed by Serge Cornelissen, reflecting a dedication to both refined aesthetics and high performance in architectural lighting solutions.
