Aputure STORM 80c RGB LED Monolight with High CRI/TLCI, BLAIR-CG Engine, Mini ProLock Bowens Mount

Portable, powerful, and vividly colorful, the Aputure STORM 80c is a compact 80W point-source LED fixture built for creators who need professional lighting on the go. Utilizing the cutting-edge BLAIR-CG light engine, this miniature powerhouse delivers exceptional color fidelity and flexibility, enabling filmmakers, photographers, and content creators to take their lighting palette anywhere.

At the heart of the STORM 80c is the BLAIR-CG chipset, a revolutionary full-spectrum light engine that includes blue, lime, amber, indigo, red, cyan, and green emitters. This advanced architecture delivers the most accurate and saturated tunable color ever produced by an LED, covering over 90% of the Rec.2020 color space. It allows for color tones previously unattainable with LEDs—such as vivid, accurate yellow—and provides enhanced white light that mimics daylight and tungsten thanks to its calibrated indigo emitter. The STORM 80c achieves a CRI of 97, TLCI of 99, and SSI scores of 88 at 3200K and 84 at 5600K, ensuring that what you see is what your camera captures.

The STORM 80c pushes boundaries with its ultra-wide CCT range of 1,800K to 20,000K and full ±green tint adjustment. This high level of color precision makes it suitable for everything from naturalistic skin tones to stylized cinematic looks, offering the full ASC MITC 100% green/magenta correction range for perfect on-camera white balance control.

Despite its powerful output and professional-grade color accuracy, the STORM 80c remains incredibly compact. Without its yoke, it measures just 6 x 4 x 4 inches and weighs a mere 2.23 pounds. Its removable yoke design features 3/8"-16 threaded sockets, making it compatible with common grip gear and allowing users to rig the light almost anywhere. An optional handheld bracket is available with a built-in V-mount battery plate and D-Tap cable, giving users even more flexibility on set.

The fixture supports multiple power inputs, including AC, V-mount battery, and USB-C. Aputure’s 100W USB-C input makes it possible to run the light from compact and affordable power banks, further enhancing its portability. This makes the STORM 80c an ideal solution for run-and-gun shoots, remote locations, or minimalist setups.

Aputure introduces a new Mini ProLock Bowens Mount with the STORM 80c—a compact and secure version of its professional locking system. This ensures that modifiers stay firmly in place and aligned, even during dynamic shoots. Aputure also offers dedicated accessories for this mount and an adapter for traditional Bowens modifiers, expanding the creative possibilities for shaping light.

Built for real-world conditions, the STORM 80c features full IP65-rated weather and dust resistance, with sealing around all ports and components. This robust construction allows it to function reliably in rain, dust, or other harsh environments, making it a dependable fixture for outdoor productions.

Control options include onboard adjustment, wired DMX (via a locking 3-pin terminal), wireless CRMX (LumenRadio), and Bluetooth via Aputure’s Sidus Link and Sidus Link Pro apps. These versatile options enable seamless integration into modern lighting setups, whether you’re operating a solo rig or syncing across a large, networked production. The light also offers four dimming curves—linear, exponential, logarithmic, and S-curve—ensuring intuitive and consistent control over output across different scenarios.

The STORM 80c includes a 35° hyper reflector, diffuser, mount cover, power adapter, and a soft case, offering a complete kit that’s ready to travel. With silent fan operation as low as 22.3 dBA and a native COB beam angle of 60°, it balances performance with discretion on set.

Whether you’re lighting an intimate interview, an indie film scene, or a product shoot in a remote location, the STORM 80c offers unmatched color control, robust design, and the freedom to take professional-grade lighting anywhere.
