BOOK is a sophisticated linear luminaire that unites acoustic performance with clean, contemporary design. Its sleek profile is carefully crafted to manage both sound and light, making it an ideal solution for environments where comfort, focus, and atmosphere are essential. The body of the fixture is an aluminum extrusion wrapped in high-performance sound-absorbing PET material and softened by rounded edges that lend it an inviting yet refined appearance. Offered in three aperture sizes, BOOK blends seamlessly into a variety of interiors—from libraries and collaborative workspaces to dining areas and quiet lounges—where its ability to reduce ambient noise enhances the acoustic environment while its gentle, diffuse lighting improves visual comfort.
Beyond its elegant form, BOOK is engineered for performance. The fixture is suspended via steel cables and powered through a silver braided power cable, underscoring the luminaire’s visual simplicity. It mounts directly over standard junction boxes supplied by others, ensuring clean integration into architectural ceilings. BOOK utilizes high-power factor electronic drivers compatible with 120–277V and 347V (EU-240V), housed within the fixture for a compact, self-contained design. It also supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) integration for seamless connection to smart building networks.
To address varying lighting needs, BOOK offers a tunable white option with a color temperature range from 2700K to 6500K, as well as RGBW options for dynamic environments—both available through consultation. BIOS circadian lighting support is also available for wellness-centered applications. Light is delivered through an opal acrylic diffuser, offered in two configurations: a roll-out version for continuous systems and a snap-in version for standalone fixtures. For orders combining both types, a roll-out lens is supplied to ensure visual consistency across installations.
Acoustically, BOOK performs as impressively as it illuminates. The outer material consists of 12mm-thick acoustic panels made from 100% recycled polyester fiber (PET), combining sustainability with high-performance design. These panels achieve a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) rating of 0.8 and meet ASTM E84-2018 Class A fire rating standards, ensuring both safety and sound control in high-use environments.
The luminaire provides excellent longevity, with a reported L70 lifetime of over 60,000 hours and an estimated L70 of more than 165,000 hours at 25°C, delivering 2000 lumens per foot (6000 lumens per meter) based on 4000K with CRI 90+ for crisp, accurate light. An integral emergency lighting system is also available, offering 1.5 hours of operation in North America and 3 hours in the EU. This system includes a self-contained inverter, NiCad batteries, and an LED charge indicator and test switch (NA only), though it is not available for 347V configurations.
BOOK is compatible with a wide array of lighting control systems, including Avi-On, Casambi, Enlighted, Lutron Vive, nLight, NX Lighting Controls, Osram, and Philips. It is damp rated for indoor applications with moisture exposure and can be supplied with seismic bracing kits to meet structural compliance requirements.
