This single-layer fire-resistant barrier eliminates the need for additional housing assemblies to meet fire codes and simultaneously reduces sound transmission between floors. The vertically adjustable housing accommodates ceilings up to 1 ½ inches thick. The low-profile design measures less than six inches in height and weighs only four pounds, making handling and installation straightforward. For wood joist installations, the housing incorporates the patented Real Nail® 3 telescoping bar hanger system (US Patent D552,969), allowing rapid positioning anywhere within 24-inch on-center joist spacing and offering a removable nail for repositioning when necessary.
Electrical connections are simplified with the 120V plug-in connector, compatible with all Juno retrofit LED trim modules. The pre-wired junction box includes six ½-inch and one ¾-inch knockouts, four knockouts for 12/2 or 14/2 NM cable, and provisions for a ground wire. The junction box is UL and cUL listed for through-branch wiring with a maximum of six #12 branch circuit conductors. Removable access plates and pryout-equipped knockouts enable fast, secure installation using the included quick-connect electrical connectors.
Fire resistance specifications confirm the housing meets UL263, ASTM E119, and CAN/ULC-S101 standards for both U.S. and Canadian installations. It is suitable for one-hour floor/ceiling and roof/ceiling gypsum assemblies under UL Design No. L500 and P500, as well as two-hour assemblies under UL Design Nos.
