Designed specifically for aircraft requiring rear-facing position and strobe lighting, the PosiStrobe DayLite operates within a voltage range of 9 to 18 VDC. At 14V, the unit draws 0.31 amps for position lighting and up to 3.85 amps peak for strobe operation. Despite its high output, the average current consumption remains efficient—0.64 amps per frame for strobe only, and 0.95 amps per frame when both position and strobe functions are active. Power input at 14V reaches 4.3 watts for position and 54 watts peak for strobe functionality. The strobe flashes at a rate of 48 cycles per minute, providing strong visibility in all operating conditions.
Physically, the light measures 45.3 mm x 56 mm x 30 mm (1.785" x 2.206" x 1.18") and weighs only 67 grams (2.363 ounces), making it one of the lightest in its class. It is designed for installation using M3 or #6-32 screws, and is intended for use in environments ranging from -55°C to +85°C (-55°F to +185°F), with full waterproof, dust-proof, and vibration-proof protection. To ensure operational safety and durability, the unit includes integrated protection features such as overheat protection, reverse polarity protection, transient voltage protection up to 60V for 2 seconds in both polarities, as well as under-voltage (lockout at 9V) and over-voltage protection (lockout at 18V). For safe electrical integration, a 5A fuse or circuit breaker is recommended for both the position and strobe circuits.
