Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting has launched a new wireless emergency lighting portfolio and monitoring system, enabling building managers to control, monitor and test emergency lighting and produce compliance reports, through a secure cloud-based dashboard.
Powered by Signify’s Interact connected lighting system developed for intelligent buildings, the new system enhances the testing process by automating function and duration tests, while delivering data insights and health status alerts. Interact Building Manager enables building operators to monitor and manage both general and emergency lighting through a cloud-based dashboard. This supports multiple testing schedules and delivers detailed reports for regulatory documentation and reporting. The system also simplifies maintenance and supports compliance with emergency lighting standards as per local regulations.
Greg Nelson,For building managers and maintenance teams alike, regular testing and maintenance of emergency lighting is crucial, but can be time-consuming and prone to human error. Signify’s new wireless emergency lighting portfolio and Interact Building Manager provides visibility and control over your emergency lighting with regular proof of performance to ensure compliance with relevant standards while reducing operational complexity and cost.

There are four key configurations to meet the varying needs of buildings: general lighting fixtures with built-in emergency capabilities; wireless DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) extenders and sensors; wireless exit signs and emergency lights. Everything from general lighting to emergency lighting can be commissioned and deployed under one contract and one dashboard, enabling cost savings and efficient maintenance and monitoring of an entire lighting system. Alternatively, emergency lighting can be installed and commissioned on its own to achieve mandatory building compliance.
Greg Nelson,With our connected wireless emergency lighting portfolio, building operators can find tailor-made solutions while also reducing cost, streamlining operations and meeting essential compliance standards. Signify’s expertise in both general and emergency lighting means we can act as a single trusted partner for a wide range of customer needs.

Signify (Euronext: LIGHT) today announced that its Interact cloud-based wireless lighting system has been awarded the DEKRA IEC 62443-3-3 security certification. This certification is a mark of confidence that the Interact system and services are private and secure against ever-evolving information security threats. This certification confirms the resilience of the Interact system and is the latest step in Signify’s ongoing cybersecurity assurance efforts.
Signify was among the first lighting companies to certify its development lifecycle process against IEC 62443-4-1, the international standard for security of industrial control systems and operational technology. Signify’s cloud solutions are also certified against ISO 27001, a reputed international standard for information security.
The Interact connected lighting system combines energy-efficient LED luminaires, sensors and wireless networking, and cloud-based software. It is designed to help cities and businesses centrally manage and control their lighting as well as gather data from their illuminated spaces to maximize energy savings, enhance the wellbeing of citizens or employees, improve their operational efficiency, and gain other actionable insights.
IEC-62443-3-3 focuses on the principle of a secure Industrial Automated Control Systems (IACS) and other parts of the standard series. Certification is awarded based on tests against the following pillars:
- Access control – only authorized users can access the system
- Use control – only authorized actions can be performed in the system
- System integrity – the system and its data are protected from unauthorized changes
- Data confidentiality – sensitive data is safeguarded from unauthorized access and disclosure
- Restricted data flow – data can only flow between controlled system components, preventing unauthorized access or information leaks
- Timely response to events – detects and responds to a cybersecurity threat
- Resource availability – ensures that system resources remain available and functional during a cybersecurity incident
IEC certification is a mark of excellence in a digital landscape, where safety and cybersecurity are of fundamental importance,” said Bram Holtus, CEO of DEKRA Certification B.V. “We were proud to certify Signify’s development lifecycle process against IEC 62443-4-1 as early as 2020, and to complement this certification with a DEKRA Seal, which demonstrates that Signify undergoes annual audits by DEKRA, ensuring continuous compliance with process requirements. The fact that Signify’s Interact cloud-based wireless lighting system has now been awarded a DEKRA IEC 62443-3-3 certificate is truly impressive, as the company is among the first in the world to meet the particularly high demands of this certification.

Our Interact connected lighting system just got smarter. Interact Space analysis combines environmental and people sensors to help property managers gather deep insights on how their space is utilized. These data points can be used to reduce costs for unused space and adjust working conditions for optimal employee well-being and productivity.
- Interact Space analysis enables building owners to analyze their space, environmental conditions, and occupancy more effectively
- Two new sensors have been introduced to monitor environmental conditions and track occupancy patterns: the Environmental sensor and the People sensor
- For building owners, it represents an excellent opportunity to create appealing, tenant-friendly spaces, support healthy building standard certifications such as WELL, and secure longer, more valuable lease contracts
- Signify is the only lighting company in the world to offer this highly effective workplace improvement solution
Eindhoven, the Netherlands – Signify (Euronext: LIGHT), the world leader in lighting, has introduced an innovative new capability to its growing Interact connected lighting portfolio: Interact Space analysis. Working in combination with two new state-of-the-art sensors, Interact Space analysis provides a data-driven solution that gives building owners the vital information they need to optimize working conditions for tenants and their employees. Sensors installed can report on occupancy at either the room or floorplan level — this helps to avoid overcrowding and allows employees to focus and be more productive. Property managers can also gather insights on how their space is utilized and use the collected data to optimize the workplace and reduce costs for unused space.
Better working conditions
Attitudes about the workplace have changed. With employers demanding more from their office space, tenants have reassessed space and quality needs and have begun to migrate from class B and C buildings to class A facilities. Interact Space analysis provides an opportunity to make that migration more attractive.
Environmental sensors distributed throughout an office monitor many aspects of the surroundings, including temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide levels, levels of volatile organic compounds, and atmospheric pressure. People sensors count the number of people in a room or floor. Combining the data of both sensors will help tenants and owners adjust working conditions for their employees' benefit. Business owners are far more likely to extend their tenancy in a building that promotes employee well-being and productivity.
Human-centric workplaces
Successful property management means creating human-centric workplaces and healthier building environments. Interact Space analysis can support property managers’ goals of achieving healthy building standard certifications such as the WELL Building Standard, which links office design, policies, and built environment strategies to health and well-being outcomes. This standard, in turn, can attract high-quality tenants and secure longer, more valuable lease contracts. Signify is the only lighting company in the world to offer this highly effective workplace improvement solution.
There has been a major evolution in what we expect from our place of work. Employees today expect their work environment to be adapted to their needs and support their health and well-being. Signify is the first lighting company to support building owners with the information they need to optimize working conditions for tenants and their employees — whether it’s adjusting the HVAC schedule to increase energy efficiency or rearranging desks to take advantage of unused space. Interact Space analysis will help office owners and facility managers build offices of the future.”
