Luminous intensity (sometimes called candlepower) is a measure of luminous flux (wavelength-weighted power) emitted by a light source in a particular direction per unit solid angle. It can be described as the concentration of light in a particular direction. Luminous intensity is given in lumen per steradian (lm/sr). One lm/sr is referred to as one candela (cd).
