Aircraft taxi lights are medium intensity lights which provides illumination for maneuvering the airplane on ground to or from a runway, taxi strip, or in the hangar area. They provide visibility of the taxiway several feet in front of the aircraft so that the pilot can safely taxi the aircraft at night or during periods of low visibility conditions. Taxi lights are mounted on non-steerable parts of nose landing gear, which is in the fairing under the fuselage immediately forward of the forward wing spar. They are often in the same area with landing lights.
