The Hydrel 8200 Series LED floods are engineered to deliver long-lasting, energy-efficient illumination in environments where durability and reliability are essential. These luminaires are built to withstand harsh outdoor conditions, including weather exposure, high-pressure sprinkler systems, corrosive fertilizers, and lens impacts that would compromise most other products. Their rugged construction makes them particularly well suited for ground-mounted, upward-aimed applications where performance and resilience must go hand in hand. With an expected service life exceeding 100,000 hours, the 8200 Series eliminates the repeated lamp replacements associated with HID sources, while producing up to 34,900 lumens—enough to replace a 1000W metal halide floodlight with an energy savings of approximately 66%.

At the core of the system is COB LED technology paired with a precision optical system that ensures excellent beam uniformity, superior glare control, and consistent photometric performance. Available in static LED configurations, the series offers a range of CCTs including 3000K, 4000K, and 5000K, along with specialized LED colors such as Amber Limited Wavelength, Amber Phosphor Corrected, Blue, Green, and Red, all maintaining a minimum CRI of 70. The optical offerings include NEMA flood distributions from 3×3 to 6×6, horizontal flood (6×4), and vertical flood (4×6), as well as flood, medium flood, narrow flood, vertical flood, horizontal flood, and wide flood beam options. The 8200 Series is offered in multiple standard colors, including beige, black, bronze, brown, gray, green, silver, and white.

Mounting flexibility is another hallmark of the 8200 Series. Options include knuckle, pole-mount, surface, and yoke configurations. The standard YM yoke mount features aluminum construction with stainless steel locking hardware, offering infinite aiming adjustability and compatibility with a wide variety of mounting accessories. The YMTM variant integrates a tenon slip-fitter for installation over a 2-3/8" (T20) tenon. All models arrive with a 10' 18-3 ST-W power cord for simplified connection, and the fixtures are rated to withstand 3G vibration loads in accordance with ANSI/IEEE C136.31, supporting reliable use on poles and structures subject to vibration.

The electrical system is built around a universal MVOLT (120-277V) Class 1 electronic driver offering wattages between 220 and 371 watts, delivering a minimum L83 performance at 100,000 hours at 25°C. The driver features a power factor greater than 90%, THD under 20%, and an expected life of 100,000 hours with a failure rate below 1%. Standard 10kV surge protection meets Category C low-operation requirements per ANSI/IEEE C62.41.2, ensuring robust defense against electrical disturbances. The product is IP67 rated for superior ingress protection and carries cCSAus and NOM regulatory listings, confirming its suitability for wet-location installations.
