Engineered for long life and dependable operation, the system uses a quad-chip RGBW light engine paired with a sustainable, serviceable thermal management design built around aluminum heat-sinking components. These materials support cool operation, extended component lifespan, and low maintenance while meeting the safety demands of MRI environments. The fixture requires SmartLED™ DMX remote driver modules, an associated cabinet, and RFI filters for proper operation, with all components ordered separately under the MRIDMXPS system. For emergency power needs, the SmartLED™ Emergency Backup System is supported through EMI-21220 or EMI-03120 options, each specified and ordered separately as required.
Structurally, the sconce features a 7.5-inch square white baked-enamel faceplate paired with a 10-inch square, clear 1/4-inch acrylic diffuser that illuminates both the center field and the perimeter edge. Optional color and finish variations are available to match project aesthetics. Two contemporary button finials complete the appearance, while a brushed anodized aluminum housing provides a rustproof, modular assembly with a shallow 2½-inch depth that satisfies all ADA requirements. This construction contributes to easy servicing and discreet integration into MRI suite architecture.
Installation requires a minimum 18 AWG twisted-pair shielded wire running from the SmartLED™ MRI driver modules to the RFI filter, and the included 35-foot RJ-45 cable that connects the filter to the luminaire. A universal backplate allows mounting to any nonferromagnetic octagon or 4-inch square junction box supplied by others, suitable for either wall or ceiling locations. The sconce meets UL and C-UL listings for dry locations and covered ceilings or walls and complies with IEC and FCC Part 15 requirements for EMI and RFI emissions, ensuring safe performance in sensitive imaging environments.
