Automotive LED Drivers
Automotive LED drivers are designed for automotive exterior and interior lighting applications. They provide drive current regulation for high beam, low beam, fog lights, tail lamps, daytime running lights, position and turn signal lights. The greatest challenge with automotive applications is that the electromagnetic interference (EMI) specifications demand extremely low levels of emissions. Thermal management is also an important consideration. The driver circuit which uses a switching regulator is often shielded to achieve electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Linear regulators are sometimes used to reduce complexity and simply design, provided that the driver efficiency is not a critical requirement.
